HIV Prevention
We go where HIV hits hardest, reaching those most at risk. We ensure people who test positive are quickly linked to care and treatment. That is how we achieve viral suppression and reduce transmission. Because ending HIV takes action, not intention.
HIV Prevention
Our Strategic Focus
Leadership in HIV Testing Services (HTS): We support national and county governments to develop, pilot, and scale up effective strategies to identify and link people diagnosed with HIV to care and treatment.
Integration across healthcare services: We embed HTS within all service delivery points, at community and facility level — to reach more people earlier.
Innovative HIV prevention: We advocate for and promote flexible, evidence-based HIV prevention approaches tailored to the needs of individuals and communities.
Our Achievements
The first organisation to establish HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) centres in Kenya
Pioneered Partner Notification Services — an evidence-based approach to reaching people exposed to HIV through their sexual or drug-using partners, using contact tracing.
Tested more than 10 million people for HIV, with 216,442 testing positive. Of those on treatment, 95% achieved viral load suppression — reducing HIV-related mortality and morbidity.
